The tents are heavy in weight; which means they aren’t suitable for backpacking adventures. The Arctic Extreme 12 weighs 63lb! Although this is to be expected for a tent of this size and durability.

Materials + Weather Protection

We have established that this is a great tent for cold weather, but what materials does it use to do this? Well, the Arctic Oven uses an innovative material called Vapex fabric. This material insulates well, whilst also allowing condensation to escape, making it ideal for winter camping.

Alongside the high-quality tent walls, you will find a durable floor made from urethane coated 200D oxford nylon. This material is tough as old boots and will prevent water from leaking into the tent. To further prevent leaks, the floor has a bathtub design with sealed seams.

Stove

Like, all good tents for extreme weather, the Oven is a tent with stove jack. This is positioned on the tent ceiling, allowing you to connect a tent stove. This isn’t just a hole in the tent, the jack has a non-burnable layer so that your tent material isn’t damaged from the heat. Click here for our recommend tent stoves.

Storage

The tent has a large vestibule area at the front of the tent. This area is perfect for holding all of your camping gear, like stove, trainers, backpack and clothing. A massive pole is used to create like porch-like area. If that still isn’t enough space then you can use the roof attachments to create your own washing line. Built-in storage pockets allow you to keep important items close-by and off the ground.
